Ø Stag Ø Summer Fest Ø Lake Clean up Ø Lake Improvements Tips to Help our Lake ü If you live on the lakes, use no-phosphorus fertilizer on your lawn. Most lawns do not need additional phosphorus. The runoff of phosphorus provides nutrients for the unwanted blue-green algae bloom in the lakes. ü Do rake up leaves in the fall. Leaves decompose that add nutrients and use up oxygen in the lakes. ü Use gravel driveways and brick patios rather than concrete so rain water can soak into the ground to reduce runoff. ü Leave some natural vegetation along the shore and cut grass 2 1/2 - 3 inches to reduce runoff. ü Allow some aquatic plants to grow in the water on part of your shoreline to add oxygen to the lake. ü Ashes add unwanted nutrients to the lake.
